Archimedes System Platform
2003-today. Architecture definition and prototype
implementation of a system platform for the
component-based and model driven development of
Mechatronic manufacturing systems. The system platform
supports the proposed Model Integrated Mechatronics
(MIM) paradigm in the development of Mechatronic
Manufacturing Systems.

CORFU ESS
2002-today. Design and development of an
IEC61499-compliant prototype Engineering Support System
for the development and deployment of function block
based control systems. The system in its current version
utilizes IBM’s Rational ROSE for requirements
specification and CORFU FBDK for design and deployment.

CORFU framework
2001-today. Architecture definition and prototype
implementation of the CORFU framework for the real-time
interconnection of heterogeneous industrial field
busses. Architecture definition for the design and
development of IEC-compliant control and automation
systems on top of heterogeneous field busses (4-layer
CORFU Architecture).
The CORFU framework was utilized for the definition of
the OOONEIDA IP proposal as well as in the definition of
the part of the RECORDS IP proposal that refers to the
architectural design and the conceptual modeling of the
development and deployment tools. CORFU FBDK, our
prototype IEC-compliant Engineering Support System has
been downloaded from more than 30 universities,
institutes and companies for research purposes.

REDOM
1994-96. Definition of REDOM, an OO high level language
for the expression of resource regulations in scheduling
and rescheduling. Design and a prototype implementation
of a prototype visual environment for REDOM. The system
is part of a Constraint Satisfaction system that has as
objective the real-time rescheduling of airline
activities. The system is successfully used by Lufthansa

OOTCP
2003. Design and development of the TCP layer του IP/TCP
protocol stack for the real-time operating system
RTLinux. OOTCP is the first known implementation of the
TCP protocol for the RTLinux operating system. The
design and development was done as a case study of the
proposed methodology for the design and development of
communication protocols using the Unified Modelling
Language (UML) URL:
