CfP: Special Session on The IEC 61499 Function Block Model in Factory Automation in ETFA06 Prague.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Dear IEC61499 expert,

It is my pleasure to inform you about the Special Session on The IEC 61499 Function Block Model in Factory Automation
that is being organized for the 11th IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA06), Prague

As you already know the interest from academia and industry for the IEC 61499 Function Block model is growing last years and a lot of approaches that utilize the model are in evolution (see survey paper IEC 61499 in Factory Automation).

To provide a significant insight into the FB models specification and its ability to support the whole development process of distributed control applications we organize a Special Session in the context of the ETFA06 Conference.

The focus of this special session is on the FB model and its use in factory automation. Theoretical issues related to the IEC61499 specification as well as its use in practice will be presented and discussed. See detailed CfP

I hope that this information is of interest to you and that you will consider contributing a paper of your latest research results on the IEC 61499 Function Block model.

If you are interested, I would appreciate if you send me a short note with indication of whether you plan a submission and if possible the proposed title, the author list and a 3-6 lines abstract that will help us to organize the SS. Papers will undergo the reviewing process of the IEEE and will be submitted following the regular submission process of ETFA conference. You may check the conference web site (http://www.action-m.com/etfa2006/) for further details.
Should you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

We are looking forward your contribution and seeing you in Prague!
